Step-by-step explanation:

Given Ashi has 130 rupees in the form of 5-rupee coins and 2-rupee coins. The number of 2-rupee coins is 4  times that of 5-rupee coins. Find the number of coins of each denomination.

  • Let x be the number of coins of Rs 5
  • Let y be the number of 2 rupee coins.
  • According to question we get
  • So y = 4x------------1
  • Now Ashi has 130 Rs in the form of 5 rupee coins and 2 rupee coins.
  • So 5x + 2y = 130 -------------2
  • Substituting y in equation 2 we get
  • 5x + 2(4x) = 130
  • 5x + 8x = 130
  • 13x = 130
  • So x = 130 / 13
  • So x = 10
  • Now substituting the value of x we get
  • So y = 4(10)
  • So y = 40

Therefore the number of 2 Re coins is 40 and the number of 5 rupee coins is 10.
