Ashima has wooden box whose dimensions are 80 cm, 40 cm and 20cm. She wants to cover the box with square coloured paper of side 40 cm. How many square sheets of coloured paper are required.​

Given :-

length of the cuboidal box = 80cm

breadth of the cuboidal box = 40cm

height of the cuboidal box = 20cm

Total surface area of a cubiod = 2(lh + bh + lh)

= 2(80 × 40 + 40 × 20 + 80 × 20)

= 2(3200 + 800 + 1600)

= 2(5600)

= 11200cm²

To find

Area of a sheet (Sheet is in rectangular shape)

Area of a Rectangle = side × side

 =  > side {}^{2}

= 40²

= 40 × 40

= 1600cm².

therefore no. of sheets required to cover the cuboidal box = 11200/1600

= 7

hence, 7 sheets are required.
