Thank you for asking this question. Here is your answer:

1st Cooler :

Selling Price = 3990

Given that she gained 5% on the 1st Cooler

We know that Gain% = {(SP - CP)/CP} × 100

⇒ 5 = {(3990 - CP)/CP} × 100

⇒ 5CP = 399000 - 100CP

⇒ 105CP = 399000

⇒ CP = (399000/105) = 3800

⇒ Cost Price of the 1st Cooler = 3800

2nd Cooler :

Selling Price = 3990

Given that she suffered a loss 5% on the 2nd Cooler

We know that Loss% = {(CP - SP)/CP} × 100

⇒ 5 = {(CP - 3990)/CP} × 100

⇒ 5CP = 100CP - 399000

⇒ 95CP = 399000

⇒ CP = (399000/95) = 4200

⇒ Cost Price of the Second Cooler = 4200

Total Cost Price of Two Coolers = 4200 + 3800 = 8000

Total Selling Price of Two Coolers = 3990 + 3990 = 7980

As the Total Selling Price is Less than Total Cost Price

Ashima suffered an Overall Loss, Because Total Money spent on the Coolers is Greater than Total money she got by selling the Coolers.

Overall Loss = Total Cost Price - Total Selling Price

Overall Loss = 8000 - 7980 = 20

Overall Loss % = {(Overall Loss)/(Total CP)} × 100

Overall Loss % = (20/8000) × 100 = 0.25%
