Heya ❗

here's your answer ❗

Let the rate of depreciation be R% p.a.

14440 = 16000(1 - R/100)²

⇒ 14440/16000 = (1-R/100)²

⇒ 361/400 = (1 - R/100)²

⇒ (19/20)² = (1 - R/100)²

⇒ 19/20 = 1 - R/100

⇒R/100 = 1 - 19/20

⇒R/100 = 1/20

⇏R = 5

∴ Rate of depreciation = 5% p.a.

Hey mate

Here is your answer

Let the rate of depreciation be R% p.a.

14440 = 16000(1 - R/100)²
14440/16000 = (1-R/100)²
361/400 = (1 - R/100)²
(19/20)² = (1 - R/100)²
19/20 = 1 - R/100
R/100 = 1 - 19/20
R/100 = 1/20
R = 100/20
R = 5

Thus rate of depreciation = 5%
