Total distance = (40+30)m
=>70m
__________
Total displacement is the shortest distance between two points and in this case body goes through two direction. So we use Pythagoras theorem as H²= P²+B²
=>H²= {(40)²+(30)²}m
=>H²= (1600+900)m
=>H²= 2500m
=>H=50m
Total Displacement = 50m
