Aśvaghoṣa (Ashwaghosh) wrote an epic life of Buddha, as he himself was a Buddhist philosopher called as Buddha Charita which describes the acts of Buddha in Sanskrit language.

He has written the Ashwaghosha in a classical Sanskrit language, which was read not only by the five parts of  India, but also by the neighbouring countries of India like, Sumatra, Java and some other islands.
