Answer:

a : first term

d: common Difference

m : Total terms- 1

Now as given

a is the FIRST TERM

b is the LAST TERM

So b= a + md...... (as compared with (1))

Now,

d=(b - a)/m

The given expression is

d= (b-a)/n+1

Now comparing the 2 eqns. We get

m=n+1

This implies that n is the TOTAL NUMBER OF TERMS IN THE AP.
