If the escalator were turned off, 80 steps would he have to take to walk up

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Total steps = Y

Let say Asifa took 40 steps in T₁  time

So escalator did Y - 40 steps in T₁ time

Let say Ajita took 60 steps in T₂  time

So escalator did Y - 60 steps in T₂ time

Speed of Asifa = 40/T₁

Speed of Ajita = 60/T₂

Speed of Ajita = 3 * Speed of Asifa

=> 3 * 40/T₁ = 60/T₂

=> 2T₂ = T₁

Escalator Speed = (Y - 40)/T₁ = (Y - 60)/T₂

putting  2T₂ = T₁

=> (Y - 40)/2T₂= (Y - 60)/T₂

Cancelling T₁ from both sides

=> (Y - 40) = 2Y - 120

=> Y = 80

If the escalator were turned off, 80 steps would have to take to walk up
