Explanation:

oscillations are 30 in 60 sec then frequency n time period are given by,

f= N/t = 30/60= 0.5 Hz

T=1/f = 1/0.5= 2 sec

statement 2,3,and 5 are correct

(ii), (iii), and (v) are the correct statements.

Given: Number of oscillation, n = 30

           time, t = 60 s

To Find: frequency of simple pendulum, f

              Time period, T.

Solution:

To calculate f and T, the formula used:

  • frequency, f = number of oscillation (n) / time(t)
  • f = n / t
  • Frequency of a simple pendulum is defined as the number of oscillations per unit of time.
  • It is measured in hertz (Hz).
  • And, the time period is the reciprocal of the frequency of the simple pendulum.
  • Time period, T = 1 / frequency

Applying the formula for f :

f = 30 / 60

 = 3/6

 = 1/2

 = 0.5

f = 0.5 Hz.

Applying the formula for T:

T = 1 / f

  = 1 / 0.5

  = 10 /5

  = 2

T = 2 sec

Hence the frequency of the simple pendulum is 0.5Hz and the time period is 2 sec.
