ASL

ASL stands for Assessment of Speaking and Listening.

It is an assessment conducted by schools to check the speaking and listening abilities of the students and they are marked on the basis of their performance.

It is of 20 marks.

Listening Part :

In the listening part, students listen to different audios and according to that you have to answer different questions. You are provided with a question paper having different sections and audios related to those are played accordingly. So, focus on listening the audios and apprehend things correctly.

Speaking Part :

In the speaking part, you are required to present yourself by speaking on a particular topic. It generally starts with introduction round in which your teacher takes your introduction. He/She will ask you your name and other questions related to introduction.

Speaking part of the ASL is done pair-wise. You need to answer the introduction questions as and when asked by your teacher.

Later, when you start with your speaking, the best way to give a good impression is to start by an idiom or a proverb related to your topic. If not an idiom or a proverb, you can also write your self-composed quotation. This gives a good start to your presentation.

Also, on whatever topic you speak, have a good knowledge of it as in the cross-questioning part done with your partner, any questions related to your topic can be asked by him/her.

I would suggest you to take topics which are new according to that time. Recent and debatable topics mark a good impression.

ASL isn't a tough task. Just take it easy and don't panic at the time of your presentation. Be confident.
