you could try to make him understand that stealing is a bad thing.
it may be because he may be poor or he may not have anyone to make him understand. stealing is a bad thing. he may probably not know that what he doing is bad so it us friends or teachers who should try to make him understand

another thing maybe revenge or he may not like him. but don't tell the teachers because it would only hurt him and he may become more worse.if he having Any problems try talking to him. but you could tell the teachers if he continues stealing.give him some chance.the more good friend he have the more better he will become
