It is our duty to provide them safe homes which are customised according to their needs. Ensure that the elders stay financially secure through pension plans, share investments, real estate investments etc. It will prevent them from losing their self confidence. If required they should have caretakers to assist them. Routine check ups and Mediclaim policies should also be taken up regularly to keep a tab on their physical well being. Elders should visit parks and indulge in some physical exercise everyday. Try to eliminate loneliness from their lives and bring some spark into their life so that the willingness to live stays intact. Prioritise their advise while making decisions. One should have a feeling of gratitude for the people who spent the best part of their lives looking after us and stay in the light of their love and wisdom.

They value grandchildren as a great source of happiness in life, and this also sheds of the burden from the modern day busy parents who can relax and be ensured that their children are learning some life lessons. A home ceases to be a sweet home without the elderly. So make sure that the process of aging called senescence is a beautiful one for every senior around you, after all they always say "old is gold".
