Everything has pros and cons. It's up to you how to use that thing productively. In the case of online games, let's discuss both pros and cons and then decide is it a boon or curse.
If we talk about the pros then online games which include the participation of many players increase the interaction of children with other people and they develop the qualities of co-operation and teamwork. There are many online games which include puzzle-solving, mystery-solving, etc these games help them to become solution-oriented and they learn not to give up easily. Other than this there are General knowledge games which include MCQs and those who love quiz-like games play this and increase there knowledge.
Now let's talk about the cons. Many online games are addictive so one must take proper care from start and should use them for limited hours. If it becomes addictive then it will ruin your life for sure. Another thing is students should never play those online games which involve money. Also, children should keep themselves at a distance from suicide games like the blue whale, etc
