GUWAHATI: Assam state Class 10 and 12 board examinations will commence from May 11 and 12 respectively, Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday. He added that the board’s results will be declared by July.
Even as the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) was contemplating conducting the Class 12 boards from March before the assembly elections, Sarma put an end to all speculations through his tweet. “High School Leaving Certificate examination from 11th May. Higher Secondary examination from 12th May. Result of HSLC & HS examinations will be declared within 7th and 30th July respectively,” Himanta tweeted on Saturday.
Later, he told the media that the examinees will get ample time to get ready for appearing in the board exams as the AHSEC and Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba) has already curtailed course contents by 30% in view of the academic losses incurred due to closure of educational institutions for months after Covid-19 breakout.
