I gave this answer because The assertion says that 22 karat gold is a compound but it is a mixture because 22 karat gold means that it is impure and consists of Copper and other elements . and If you take two samples from each side out you will find out that copper is present in different quantities in both so it is not in a fixed proportion That means that it does not follow the law of constant proportion so it is not a compound....
