answer for the another question u reported me i was uploading it

Explanation:

answer for this question

reason: After a shower of rain, rain drops are suspended in air and when a ray of light enters this drop, the drop acts as a prism and splits into its component colors as dispersion takes place. Lights of different colours emerge from the rain drops such as red at the top and violet at the bottom. Thus, a rainbow is formed.

Assertion is false and reason is true.

Explanation:

Sunlight is actually a spectrum of seven visible wavelengths of light namely Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red.

  • Rainbow is a result of three properties of light. The physics properties of light behind formation of rainbow are reflection, refraction and dispersion.
  • After rainfall, tiny water droplets acts as small prism and sunlight passing through those droplets, is dispersed into seven visible wavelengths.
  • At each air-water interface of the raindrop, some light reflects away from the raindrop, some light rays are refracted and enters the drops.
  • Inside the raindrop, the light undergoes dispersion and we see the rainbow.
  • And since rainbow is formed after the sunlight emerges out of the drop, so its direction is always opposite to sun.
