Explanation:

Given -

  • Assertion and Reason

To Find -

  • Which option is correct

Now,

As we know that :-

  • carbon dioxide gas turns lime water milky.

And

Here, It is given that :-

A metal on reaction with acid releases a gas which turns lime water milky.

Here, I took the Metal Magnesium (Mg) and Hydrochloric acid (HCl)

Chemical equation :-

  • 2Mg + 2HCl → MgCl2 + H2

Here, we see that the gas released is hydrogen gas (H2), and H2 doesn't turns lime water milky.

So,

Assertion is wrong.

And

In Reason It is Given that :-

  • The gas released is hydrogen.

It is True.

Because here we see that when metal reacts with acid it realeses hydrogen gas.

Hence,

Assertion is wrong and Reason is true.

Now,

According to the question, Option 4 is correct.

Because Assertion is wrong.
