Ammonium Nitrate is a salt which is denoted by formula NH₄NO₃. It is formed by neutralization reaction between a base which is Ammonium(NH₄⁺) and an acid which is Nitrate ion(NO₃⁻).

Ammonium(NH₄⁺) is a weak base and Nitrate ion(NO₃⁻) is a strongly acidic in nature. Now, when there is a neutralization reaction between a weak base and a strong acid, the salt formed is always acidic in aqueous solution because of majority of negative ions.

Therefore, accordingly, NH₄NO₃ will be acidic in aqueous solution.
