assertion : Burning of wood is a chemical change. Reason: new substances are formed during chemical change. Assertion- When force is applied on the object its speed increases. Reason: When force is applied on an object in the direction of motion its velocity increases. just tell me that are these reasons are true for assertion? Pls tell my paper is going on . First one is true, because, Burning of wood is a chemical change. Here, the new substance is formed. It cannot be irreversible.

Second one is wrong. If the force applied on the object is in the direction of its motion, the speed of the object increases. If the force is applied in the direction opposite to the direction of motion, then it results in a decrease in the speed of the object.
