Assertion: fuse is a safety device which is installed to prevent electrical circuits and possible fires.

Reason: fuse consists of a piece of wire made of a metal having low melting point which melts and breaks the circuit if the current exceeds a safe value.

is this is correct ...give the right answer. ​

the given,reason for this assertion is exactly right.

In the fuse a piece of wire is inserted ,which have fixed capacity to accept the amounts of electric current as well as heat

So,when excess current,passes through the wire,

then the ability of fuse wire,it melts,and protects from electric circuit.
