The Assertion is wrong.
Since force exerted depends on mass and acceleration. the boy may be able to push the chair with some force and it would have some acceleration. However when he pushes a truck, the mass is huge, hence if he pushes it with the same force as that of a chair, it wouldn't move with the same acceleration.
For two objects to have same acceleration upon same force., their masses need to be equal.
