ASSERTION: If angles a and b form a linear pair of angles and a=40° then b= 150° REASON: Sum of linear pair of angles is always 180° Both ASSERTION and REASON are true and REASON is the correct explanation of ASSERTION. Both ASSERTION and REASON are true but REASON is not the correct explanation of ASSERTION. ASSERTION is true but REASON is false. ASSERTION is false but REASON is true.

Given : Assertion: If angles 'a' and 'b' form a linear pair of angles and a = 40°, then b = 150°.

Reason: Sum of linear pair of angles is always 180°

To Find : true / False

Solution:

Assertion: If angles 'a' and 'b' form a linear pair of angles and a = 40°, then b = 150°.

if two angles forms a linear pair the sum is always  180°

a + b = 180°

=> 40° + 150° = 180°

=> 190° = 180°

which is False

Hence Assertion is False

Sum of linear pair of angles is always 180°  is TRUE
