Answer : Assertion is False and Reason is True.

Explanation:

  • If the mirror is shifted parallel to itself such that the velocity of the mirror is parallel to its surface, the image shall not shift. Hence, Assertion is false.
  • If a plane mirror is moved such that its perpendicular distance from the point object does not change, then the image will not move. Thus Assertion is false.
  • In Plane mirror distance of object from the mirror is equal to distance of image from mirror as image is of same size of object.
  • The image formed by a plane mirror is erect. It is virtual and is of the same size as the object. The image is at the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of it. Thus Reason is True.

Hence, Assertion is False and Reason is True.
