Answer:

(a) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A

Explanation:

In early morning, the sun is at the farthest distance from earth surface. When the white light from passes through the earth's atmosphere, light with smaller wavelength (blue) gets scattered from the dust particles in the atmosphere and only red light reaches the human eye lens. Thus the sun appears red in early morning.

This phenomenon cannot be seen by an astronaut on the moon because there is no atmosphere on moon to scatter the light.

hope it helped you

have a good day

(a) Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A

Sun appears reddish during sunrise and sunset.

This happens because, during sunrise and sunset, the sun is close to the earth's horizon and so the light has to travel a larger distance in the earth's atmosphere.

Light with a smaller wavelength (blue) gets scattered and then only light with a longer wavelength (red) travels through.

Hence, Sun appears reddish during sunrise and sunset.

The same phenomenon is not observed on the moon because the moon does not have the atmosphere to scatter the light.

Therefore, Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion. The answer is A.
