Solution :-

Let us assume that, The angles of a triangle are 2x , 3x and 4x respectively .

So,

→ 2x + 3x + 4x = 180° { By angle sum property of a ∆.}

→ 9x = 180°

→ x = 20°

then,

→ Smallest angle = 2x = 2 * 20 = 40°

→ Second angle = 3x = 3 * 20 = 60°

→ Largest angle = 4x = 4 * 20 = 80° .

therefore,

→ ASSERTION: The angles of a triangle are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4. The largest angle of the triangle is 80°.

  • True .

→ REASON: The sum of all the interior angles of a triangle is 180° .

  • True .

Hence, (a) Both assertion (A) and reason (R) are true and reason (R) is the correct explanation of assertion (A).
