Both assertion and reason are true, the reason is the correct explanation of the Assertation.

  • A country can have a high average income and not be developed. This can have various causes such as unequal distribution of wealth, the concentration of wealth with a small group of people.
  • When the wealth of the country is concentrated on a very few hand exploitation of other people of the country happens. People who have wealth will exploit the labourers who earn low wages and do not have enough money to sustain their lives.
  • A common example can be a very rich multi-millionaire of a company paying low wages to its worker and thus keeping them below the poverty line but earning most of the profits for himself.
