Reason: Momentum change occurs over a shorter time interval on hitting a hard surface than on a soft cushion.

1. Both the Assertion and the Reason a correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of the
Assertion.

2. The Assertion and the Reason are correct but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the

Answer:

The correct answer is  Both the Assertion and the Reason a correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of assertion .

Explanation:

  • Due to very high rate of change of momentum, when we fall on hard floor we instantaneously are brought to rest . But  Then you jump on a cushion. The change in momentum take place in longer interval of time. Therefore a small force is exerted on the body and we don't get injured. But in the case of hard floor. We enjoyed due to large holes on body .
  • Momentum is the force that makes you move faster and faster. Force is the rate of change of momentum. Momentum in the heart floor case is very much less, whereas in the cushion case it is very much high. That's why we get hurt on hard floor and not in cushion.
