Assertive sentence:

A sentence that says or states something is called an Assertive sentence. Assertive sentence is also known as Declarative sentence.

Examples:

  • I live in india.
  • Exerxising is good for health.

Let's know about sentence and also about it's kind:

●While speaking English, we use many sentences.

☞A sentence is a group of words which makes complete sence.

KINDS OF SENTENCES:

☞Different sentences express different things & have different purposes.

▼This, according to their purpose, sentences are classified into 5 types.

  1. Assertive or declarative sentence.
  2. Interrogative sentence.
  3. Exclamotery sentence.
  4. Imperative sentence.
  5. Negative sentence.

1️⃣ASSERTIVE OR DECLARATIVE SENTENCE:

(so as I have already written the defination of Assertive sentence, so, then no need to discuss about it again, We can start from interrogative sentence)

2️⃣INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE:

☞A sentence that asks question is called a question or an interrogative sentence. We put a question mark or a mark of interrogative (?) at the end of an interrogative sentence

Examples:

  • Where do you live?
  • How did you reach there!

3️⃣EXCLAMOTERY SENTENCE:

☞A sentence that expresses a strong feelings (happiness, joy, sadness, excitement, wish, wonder) is called an Exclamatory sentence

Examples:

  • Oh! What a beautiful sight!
  • How kind of you!

4️⃣IMPERATIVE SENTENCE:

A sentence that expresses a command a request or an advice is called an Imperative sentence.

Examples:

  • You should revise your lessons regularly. (an advice)
  • Bring me that book. (a command)
  • Please switch off the music system. (A request)

5️⃣NEGATIVE SENTENCE:

Those sentences which express a negation (and contain ‘not’ or words such as ‘never’) are called Negative sentences

Examples:

  • I have never been to France.
  • He did not finish his work
