Following are the contributions of Zainul Abidin as a great ruler of Kashmir:―
1. He got Mahabharata and Rajtarangini translated into Persian and Arabic and also got the classics of Persian and Arabic translated into Sanskrit.
2. He issued copper and silver coins.
3. He introduced control over markets and prices and also imported the items like salt from Laddakh.
4. He encouraged many crafts like shawl and carpet weaving, stone cutting and polishing in order to develop the state economy and to provide employment to the people.
5. He built his palace and a mosque on his island.
