It also provided a not so insignificant source of income for professional players. India was blessed by many test players who were both masters of cricketing technique as well as test temperament. The popularity of the game increased further in the 1980's with the onset of One Day International cricket and winning of the 1983 Prudential World Cup trophy by an Indian cricket team led by Kapil Dev. In the 1990's, the introduction of the coloured jerseys and reduction of One Day International overs from 60 to 50 overs further expanded cricket's reach. In recent times, the invention of Twenty Twenty Cricket and the Indian Premier League has further contributed to cricket's popularity in India
