• He conquered his neighbouring countries and created kingdoms, where he placed his own family members.
• He was called a moderniser of Europe. He introduced many laws such as the protection of private property and a uniform system of weights and measures provided by the decimal system.
• Initially, many people believed that Napoleon was a liberator who would bring freedom for the people
• But after some time the censorship was imposed and taxes were imposed . The people were forced to serve in the army.

2. The ideas of liberty and democratic rights were the most important legacy of the French Revolution.

• These spread from France to the rest of Europe during the nineteenth century, where feudal systems were abolished.
• It inspired the Germans, Italians, and Austrians to overthrow their oppressive regimes and to become a free nation
