Writer is the part of the OpenOffice Suite word processor, that helps to create various kinds of documents such as emails, papers, newsletters, tables, brochures, and web pages

The components of a writer document are -

  • Title bar - Consists of the document's full name, application name and also the controls for closing, minimizing, and expanding the window.
  • Status bar -  Consists of several divisions of controls that can be adjusted.
  • Toolbars - Gives the access to review panel consisting dictionaries, grammar check and other spelling and grammar tools.
  • Menus - Allows to create a new document, save a document, export it to PDF, and also print it.
