Assume a cellular system of 32 cells with a cell radius of 1.6km, a total spectrum allocation that supports 336 traffic channels, and a reuse pattern of 7. Calculate the total service area covered with this configuration, the number of channels per cell, and a total system capacity. Assume regular hexagonal cellular topology. Let the cell size be reduced to the extent that the same area as covered in above part with 128 cells. Find the radius of the new cell, and new system capacity.

Answer:

The correct answer is 1536.

Explanation:

Let the number of cell = 32

Number of Km = 1.6

Number of traffic channel = 336

Let the 336 frequency, be reused as a pattern for hexagon of 7 areas.

Its having a radius = (1.5)2

Therefore, the area is equal to 1.6 km = 1.5

The total number of channel will be 6.65 km2.

let us take the value of 6.65 km x 32 = 213 km square.

When we divide 336/ 7 = 48.

Therefore, the total capacity of number of channels will be totally multiplied by the cells and the total will be 48.

Again, we multiply with 32 we will be total of 1536 channel.

Therefore, the radius and new system capacity is 1536.
