assume that u have crystal oscillator which is generating 10KHz frequency. and i want to design the counter which is will increment by 1 every 10sec. what should be the MOD-N counter that i need to divide the frequency such that i should get the counter output incremented by 1 for every 10sec.

Another useful feature of the D-type Flip-Flop is as a binary divider, for Frequency Division or as a “divide-by-2” counter. Here the inverted output terminal Q (NOT-Q) is connected directly back to the Data input terminal D giving the device “feedback” as shown below.
