Assuming complete ionization, same moles of which of the following compounds will require the least amount of Acidified KMnO4 for complete oxidation?

You didn't mention options here, I'll do that first.

# Options should be -
(a) FeSO3
(b) FeSO4
(c) Fe(NO2)2
(d) Fe(COO)2


● Answer -
(b) FeSO4

● Explanation -
For complete oxidation of FeSO4, only 1 electron is involved.
Fe2+ --> Fe3+ + e-

Let's see for other options,
FeSO3 => 2 electrons involved
Fe(NO2)2 => 5 electrons involved
Fe(COO)2 => 3 electrons involved

More the electrons involved, more KMnO4 is needed for oxidation.
As FeSO4 involves least electrons, it will require least amount of KMnO4 for oxidation.
