Given,

The Earth's orbit is a circle of radius 1.5x108 km.

To Find,

Mass of the Sun.

Solution,

The distance between sun and earth, r = 1.5 × 10⁸ km = 1.5 × 10¹¹ m.

G = 6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ Nm² kg⁻²

T = 365 × 24 × 60 × 60 = 31.536 × 10⁶ s

\frac{(Mass of Sun) * (Mass of Earth)}{r^{3} } = Mass of earth × r² × ω²

= Mass of earth × r × (\frac{2\pi }{T})^{2}

Mass of sun =  \frac{4\pi^{2} r^{3}  }{GT^{2} }

Mass of sun = \frac{4*(3.14)*(1.5*10^{11})^{3} }{(31.536*10^{6})^{2}  }

Mass of sun = 2.006 × 10³³ kg

Hence, the mass of the Sun is 2.006 × 10³³ kg.
