Assuming that y varies directly x, if y = 4 when x = 2, how do you find y when x = 16?

let the function be :

y = kx. (k is any constant)

we have at y = 4 , x = 2.

4 = 2k

k = 2

and when x = 16.

y = 2 × 16

y = 32.
