Given :-

Initial Velocity of stone = u = 19.5 ms-¹

Acceleration due to gravity = g = 10 ms-²

Let the maximum height attained by body = h

We can find maximum height using third equation of Motion i.e.

= + 2gh

Concept :-

When a body is thrown in upward direction then it has initial velocity only, its final Velocity is zero and after reaching the highest point its initial velocity becomes zero and it has Final Velocity only while coming downward.

v² = (19.5)² + 2(-10)h

As acceleration is acting in opposite side of the earth.

0² = 380.25 - 20h

20h = 380.25

h = 19.0125 m

Hence,

The maximum height attained by body = 19.0125 m
