Let ABCD denotes the rectangle.

Length of the sheet = 30 cm

Breadth of the sheet = 20 cm

Area of the sheet

= (30×20) = 600cm²

A strip of width 3 cm is cut out all round from a sheet of paper

Let that form a rectangle PQRS

Length of the rectangle PQRS

= 30-3-3 = 24 cm

Breadth of the rectangle

= 20-3-3 = 14 cm

Area of the rectangle PQRS

= 24×14

=336cm²

Area of the strip cut out = Area of ABCD - Area of PQRS = 600cm²−336cm²=264cm²
