Answer:

Jake will be 3 km behind Paul at 19:30 hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Time when Jake start walk = 12:00 hr

Speed of Jake = 6 km/hr

Time when Paul Starts = 13:30 hr

Speed of Paul = 8 km/hr

To find: Time when Paul is 3 km ahead of Jake.

Distance covered by Jake in between 12:00 hr and 13:30 hr = 6 × 1.5 = 9 km

According to the Question,

Time=\frac{Distance}{Speed}

Time=\frac{9+3}{8-6}=\frac{12}{2}

Time = 6 hr

Thus, Time when Paul is 3 km ahead of Jake = 13:30 + 6:00 = 19:300 hr

Therefore, Jake will be 3 km behind Paul at 19:30 hr.
