To Find :

Solution :

We know , increase in height is given by :

$\Delta l=\alpha l(T_f-T_i)$

Here , $\alpha$ of steel is , $\alpha=11\times 10^{-6}\ ^oC^{-1}$ .

Putting all given values in above equation .

We get :

$\Delta l=11\times 10^{-6}\times 324\times (30-15)\\\\\Delta l=0.053\ m=5.3\ cm$

Therefore , increase in length is 5.3 cm .
