Answer:

given  T =  25°c

diameter = d = 0.25mm

for water ,

T = 71.99mN/m

ρ =  1.0g/cm³

to find =  how high will water rise , i.e. h =?

solution =    h = 2Tcosθ / rρg

were  h = height of cappilary

        Cosθ = angle

         r = radius

         ρ = density

         g= gravitational cobnstant .

θ = 0°, so cosθ = 1.

The diameter of the tube in meters is 0.00025 m, so the radius is 0.000125 m

put the values in given formula,

     =     \frac{2x0.071.99}{0.000125x1000x9.8}

     =    0.12m

     =   12 cm

so,the final answer ,the 0.12m high will water rise in a glass capillary tube.
