Given:

Number of people that chose coffee n(C) = 93

Number of people that chose juice n(J) = 47

Number of people that chose both n(C∩J) = 25

To find:

How many people visited the buffet?

Solution:

From the Venn diagram we can conclude that:

Number of people that visited the buffet = n(C∪J)

n(C∪J)= n(C) + n(J) - n(C∩J)

= 93+ 47 - 25

= 115

Therefore the number of people that visited the buffet were 115.
