Let, M = Indian men, W=Indian women, D = Indian doctors.

According to question, n(M u D)= 24, n(M) = 23, n(W)= 29, n(D)= 4.

As per the set rule, n(M u D) = n(M) + n(D) – n(M ^ D). This implies, n(M^D) = 3.

Since, three men are doctors, therefore, number of women doctors=4-3 =1.

1 Women Doctor

Let us assume M and W to be the Indian men and the Indian Women.

Given:

Total number of people that are there = 100 people

Number of Indian men = 23 men

Number of Indian women = 29 women

Number of them that are either men or doctors n(MUD) = 24

Calculating the number of Indian men and doctors:

= n(MUD)  =  n(M) + n(D) - n(M∩D)

Substituting the values into this formula we get:

24  =  23 + 4 - n(M∩D)

= n(M∩D) =27 - 24

= 3

From this we get to know that:

There are Four Indian doctors and  Three men.

From this we understand that the number of women doctor that is attending the conference is 1.

Therefore, the number of women doctor who is attending the conference is 1 .
