Given : At a certain point in space an electron which has mass 9.11 × 10¯³¹ kg , experiences a force of 3.2 × 10^-19 N in positive x direction.

To find : the electric field at this point.

solution : we know, F = qE

where q is charge of particle experience force F in an electric field E.

here q = charge on electron = 1.6 × 10^-19 C

F = 3.2 × 10^-19 N

so, electric field, E = F/q

= (3.2 × 10^-19N)/(1.6 × 10^-19C) = 2 N/C

Therefore the Electric field at that point is 2 N/C.
