At a certain time in a zoo, the number of heads and the number of legs of tiger

and peacocks were counted and it was found that there were 35 heads and 110

legs. Find the number of tigers and peacocks in the zoo.​

so according to our knowledge

we know that all living beings have one head

moreover peacock is a bird which have 2 legs and tiger has 4 legs

thus according to the first condition

x+y=35 (1)

according to the second condition

4x+2y=110

ie 2x+y=55 (2)

so subtracting (1) from (2)

we get

x=20

substituting value of x in any of two equations

we get y=15

hence in a zoo there were 20 tigers and 15 peacocks
