Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Intrest = principle*rate*time/100

1200= 5000*rate*4/100

1200*100/5000*4 = rate

6 %= rate

15000*6*4/100

3600

Answer:

Given-:

The interest on Rs 5000 after 4 years is Rs 1200.

Find-:

What would be the same rate of interest for the same period

Taking the ratio of interest and principal

Solutions-:

P = 5,000

I = 1,200

I = 4 years

R = ?

i =  \frac{p \times r \times t}{100}

∴ \: 1200 =  \frac{5000 \times 4}{100} \\  ∴1200 = 50 \times r \times 4 \\ ∴ \: 1200 = 200 \times r \\ ∴ \: r =  \frac{1200}{200}  \\ ∴ \: r = 6

Let the interest on 15,000 be x

then \:  \frac{x}{15000}  =  \frac{1200}{5000}

∴ \: x =  \frac{1200}{5000}  \times 15000

∴ \: x =  \frac{1200 \times 15000}{5000}  = 3600 \\ ∴ \: x = 3600

Hence-:

The interest is 3,600 .
