At a crossing, there was a direction pole, which was showing all the four correct directions. But due to the wind, it turns in such a manner that now West pointer is showing South. Harrry went in the wrong direction thinking that he was travelling East. In what direction was he actually travelling?

North direction:- As east turns south, the pole has turned 90 degrees counterclockwise. Therefore, West will be North.

Explanation:

  • Instructions are part of logical reasoning. Direction is the information contained in the relative position of one point with respect to another point without the information of distance.

  • The instructions may either be relative to some indicated reference or may be absolute according to some pre-agreed frame of reference.

  • There are four cardinal directions or cardinal points:

  1. North
  2. East
  3. South
  4. West

  • Their initials usually denote these directions: N, E, S, W. East and West are at right angles to North and South, East is directly opposite to East in a clockwise direction of rotation from North and West.
