At a metro station,a girl walks up stationary escalator in time t1. If she remains stationary on the escalator, then the escalator takes her up in time t2. The time taken by her to walk up on the moving escalator will be?

Find the answer in terms of t1 and t2.

Hint:- while walking up on the moving escalator the final velocity will be equal to sum of girl veleocity and escalator velocity Take length of escalator as x

Please give answer fast best answer will be mark as brilliant

Let speed of girl on stationary escalator =V

g

=(V

1

)

speed of only escalator =V

e

=(V

2

)

slant distance =d

Now, time to go up when escalator is stop, t

g

=

V

g

d

=(=t

⇒V

g

=

t

g

d

time req. to go-up when girl stops & escalator moves, t

e

=

V

e

d

(=t

)

⇒V

e

=

t

2

d

Now, when both girl & escalator moves up,velocity of girl with respect ot ground =V

g

+V

e

Time taken, t=

V

g
