At a sports camp, there is sufficient food for 72 athletes to last 6 days. If 18 athletes are absent from the camp, how many more days can the food last for the other athletes? State the assumption made. propotion method please​

1 day=72/6

1 day = food for 12 athletes

now that we got the value for 1 day

now given here is that 18 athletes are absent

that means in total they have 72-18=54

now if 12 athletes get sufficient food for a day

then 54 will get

6x72/54

which is 8

that means a/q there will be enough food for 54 athletes for 8 days

which means if 18 students are absent then the food can last 2 more days
